Euro 2012 gives rise to Hotel business development in the capital of Ukraine

Now in Kiev there are 122 hotels (9203 rooms and 16136 beds) including 25 big hotels (more than 100 rooms) and 56 small hotels (less than 100 rooms). UEFA requires 2815 rooms in four- or five-star hotels, 3000 rooms in two- or three-star hotel, and 200 000 beds in other types of hotels and places for accommodation.

So far Kiev has 3 five-star hotels (661 rooms), 9 four-star hotels (1204 rooms) and 32 three- and two-star hotels (4198 rooms). In the view of Euro 2012 a five-star 'Hyatt Regency Kiev Hotel' (234 rooms) and two-star 'Park' hotel (7 rooms) were built last year.

35 projects which include 6 five-star hotels, 10 four-star hotels and 17 three- and two-star hotels are already started and will be finished by 2008-2011. 9 hotels are planned to open this year and 7 hotels in 2009 (including a five-star Hilton hotel in Schevchenko str. 28-30). 17 hotels are planned to be opened in 2010-2011. The approximate cost of projects is $580 million dollars.
